Thanks to home training with Naardic, I'm off the couch!

Madelen trains strength with Naardic

With two small children, work and all the daily chores, Madelen Edvardsen (31) has had minimal time or energy to prioritise herself. 

As a result, her evenings have often been spent on the sofa - with a physical condition she describes as poor.

In the autumn, she decided to take action: "I wanted to be able to play with my children without getting so tired. 

Was tipped off about Naardic

Madelen learnt about Naardic through friends.

- I was quickly convinced that Naardic could be a good solution for me," she says.

The fact that Naardic offers digital training sessions throughout the day and evening was a trigger for the mother of two

- "It's great for me to be able to train from home. Especially when I struggle to get to a fitness centre in the evenings.

Motivated and ready for a new and better lifestyle, she chose to test an eight-week "get fit" programme with the fitness service

- I am incredibly lucky

In October, she started the project - with close follow-up from Naardic's personal trainer, Annema Refsnes.

Together, they made a plan for different exercises, mobility and diet that could be added to Madelen's hectic everyday life.

- "Madelen lacked good routines for exercise and diet in her everyday life. So it's about changing her mindset, which can be a bit painful at first," says Annema.

- "I'm incredibly lucky to have had Annema with me from the start. She's a unique supporter. When I've been a bit down, she's offered motivational words and cheers," says Madelen.

Noticed rapid progress

For the first week, the 31-year-old was nervous about not mastering the exercises and struggled to add new habits to an already hectic schedule.

After a rough start, progress came. Faster than she had dared to hope for.

- I noticed progress already in the third week. I was able to do the exercises better, with more repetitions, and I felt that the training gave me energy.

Throughout the eight weeks, Madelen has documented the project with photos and diary entries.

- Being boosted by the coaches

Madelen thanks the entire Naardic coaching team for not giving up after the first week.

- The coaches give me a real boost. They're all so skilful, motivating and cheerful. A really good cheering squad," she says.

With Naardic's interactive sessions, Madelen can chat to the trainers through the screen and get good advice and tips for the various exercises.

- You can choose whether you want the screen on, but for me there's great value in being able to get tips and advice along the way," she says.

Impressive results

By the end of the eight weeks, Madelen was feeling all the benefits of the training.

- I had a goal to be more active with the kids. It's been much better, and I have a lot more energy in my everyday life.

In addition, she has experienced great progress in her own strength and endurance.

- "I've managed this so well. What I found difficult in the beginning - feels easy now," she says.

 Coach Annema Refsnes praises Madelen for her efforts.

- "Madelen has been positive all the way. Where she has experienced setbacks, she has come back and mastered them," she says.

Will continue with Naardic

Today, Madelen has no doubts - she will continue training with Naardic.

- "Eight weeks with Naardic has been a revelation for me. I've got off the couch and got my energy and spark back," she says.

- "Naardic makes it easy to incorporate exercise into your everyday life - even for someone who has always been happiest on the sofa," she adds.


Madelen's reasons for continuing with Naardic:

  • I can train anytime, anywhere.
  • The coaches are super motivating.
  • The sessions are varied and generally last no longer than 20-40 minutes.
  • If I don't make the 8am class, it will be available later.
  • It's great to have the kids along, and they think it's fun.
