NAARDIC

Home fitness creates a balance between activity and relaxation during the Christmas holidays

Christmas is a time for cosiness, togetherness and relaxation

We enjoy spending time with family and friends, often with lots of good food. At the same time, many of us want to keep fit during the festive season, and some may feel that it's a bit too much of a good thing. How can we find a good balance between these seemingly conflicting needs? Is there actually a contradiction between enjoying Christmas and staying fit? Activity can actually make us feel more relaxed the rest of the time, so a short workout every day will give you the most relaxing Christmas holiday.

Find calm with activity

It's not about choosing between rest and exercise - the two complement each other perfectly. A yoga class, a leisurely walk in the winter landscape or a fun Zumba session can be more relaxing than lying on the sofa. The big difference is that you get fresh air, light exercise and maybe even some much-needed alone time in the middle of the festive season.

Flexible home training at Christmas

Naardic's Christmas timetable are tailored to give you exactly the workout you need, when it suits you. You'll find everything from calm yoga classes for relaxation to energetic interval and HIIT sessions when you need to get your heart rate up. All classes can be done at home or in the cabin, and the strength training sessions are specially adapted for training without extensive equipment. Bring your training mat and you'll have everything you need.

Can't find a class that suits you on that particular day? You can either do a recording session when it suits you, or choose an alternative activity such as a walk in the woods or a ski trip. The most important thing is that you do something that gives you a good feeling afterwards.

This flexibility is one of the great benefits of home training on Naardic - you can easily customise your training to suit your Christmas routine, whether you're at home or on the move. But there are plenty of other easy ways to stay active this festive season:

  • Take your family for an afternoon walk between meals. This provides both quality time and exercise.
  • Dance to Christmas music while you decorate or cook.
  • Play in the snow with your children or grandchildren.

Find your own rhythm

The most important thing is to listen to your body and find your personal balance. Hard workouts during the Christmas holidays may not be the best thing to give you a sense of wellbeing Some days you may just need to relax in a comfy chair with a good book. On other days, you might feel like a longer ski trip or a quick workout in your living room. Our schedule has both short and long sessions.

Get moving with HIIT training

If you've had a few quiet days with lots of Christmas food, you may feel the need for a kickstart? Circuit training, interval training and short sessions such as ab burn, arm burn and glute burn speed up your metabolism and get that good feeling back. It's good to know that 20 minutes of HIIT training (short intervals of 30 to 45 seconds) can be just as effective as a long run.

De-stress with yoga

When we combine light physical activity with mental presence, it can actually reduce stress more effectively than passive rest. A calm yoga session or stretching before bed can be a perfect way to calm both body and mind. Naardic has yoga classes almost every day during the festive season. Feel free to bring your children, grandchildren, parents or grandparents to Amiram and Nathalie's classes - "Yoga for everyone" - and make it a family activity. If you're inviting them to a workout party, it doesn't matter if they're far away.

Remember that it's Christmas holidays

Remember that Christmas is a time of joy and indulgence to help us through the dark times of the year. We lead stressful lives for most of the year, and it's important to take a break from that from time to time. By naturally integrating light movement into our Christmas routine, we can both look after our bodies and enjoy the festive season to the full - without a guilty conscience or stress.
