How Cecilie found the formula for success in her living room

We know that exercise is good for us. Yet only 3 out of 10 Norwegians meet the NIPH's recommendations for physical activity. With the duties and responsibilities of everyday life, it can quickly seem hopeless to set aside several hours at the fitness centre every week. 

The good news is that 20 minutes of increased heart rate a day is enough to reach the recommendations.

And you don't have to leave the house to get an effective workout. An exercise mat on your living room floor is all you need to get in the best shape of your life. 


Really lucky and a little sneaky

Cecilie Udjus has always liked to be active and worked out at the gym for a long time. However, life as a teenage mum led to an involuntary stay at the gym. 

- "What often makes exercise difficult to carry out is the time it takes. You have to pack your bag, drive to the centre, find parking, talk to people you know," she says and continues:

- And all that's outside the session itself. It goes without saying that it's difficult to do this several times a week. 

When she joined Naardic in 2020, she quickly realised that this was something she wanted to continue doing.

- "I feel really lucky and a bit lucky to be training with Naardic. I have so much freedom to train whenever and wherever I want.

- The way they see each individual member makes it feel like you're training with a personal trainer every time. But I would never have bought so many PT classes otherwise.

Exercise has never been more enjoyable

With Naardic's full schedule, it's easy to squeeze in a workout - even with a full calendar. Naardic has sessions from 06.00 until 22.00 in the evening. 

- "Everyday life is hectic, and you think you won't have time to exercise. But then you realise that you might have an hour or half an hour free, and then you manage to squeeze in a session," says Cecilie and continues:

- "I exercise a lot more now than I used to, and it's never been more enjoyable. I'm always trying to recruit family and friends, and I've made a few," she says with a laugh.

- "With Naardic, we can train together even if we're in different places. We can talk to each other during the session and it just becomes very sociable and enjoyable.

At Naardic, the training sessions are live. According to Cecilie, this means that it takes a long time to skip the session.

- You feel an obligation to attend the class you've signed up for, which means that you complete the programme on days when you're not so keen. It's a better incentive than you might think.

Get in great shape

One day, when Cecilie was ready to roll out her exercise mat on the living room floor, her husband wanted to join the training session - much to Cecilie's surprise. 

- He noticed that I had become so strong. And since then he's been with me sporadically," she says and continues:

- We practise mobility exercises and other things he rarely does on his own, but which are so important the older you get.

- "He does several other activities, but training with Naardic is a good supplement to any other activity," she emphasises.

Since she started in 2020, Cecilie has noticed a big difference in her body. 

- "Naardic has been a game changer for me. I've never been in better shape and it's so much fun.

Today, Cecilie is constantly trying out new forms of exercise. She finds it less scary when she can do it from the comfort of her own home. Even forms of exercise she didn't like before, she has learnt to enjoy with the right guidance.

- I'm not a fan of running, but lately I've been trying my hand at intervals. My mobile phone is in my pocket and the trainer is on my ear. The session is fun and effective every single time.

She has no plans to return to the fitness centre any time soon. 

- There's an incredible amount of good training you can achieve with a mat and some good people.
