HOW TO GET STARTED WITH HOME FITNESS
Trening trenger ikke være overveldende. 10-15 minutter kan være nok til å snu dagen. Styrketrening er helt avgjørende for at du skal føle deg sterk, både fysisk og mentalt.
Søvn er ditt viktigste verktøy for symptomlindring i overgangsaldere.

Overgangsalderen deles inn i tre distinkte faser.
Perimenopause er tiden før den siste menstruasjonen, når hormonene svinger og symptomene ofte starter. Denne fasen kan vare i 4 til 10 år.
Menopause er definert som det tidspunktet for den siste menstruasjonen, fastsatt retrospektivt etter 12 måneder uten blødning.
Postmenopause er tiden etter menopausen, som varer resten av livet.
Når hormonnivåene, særlig østrogen, synker og svinger, akselererer tapet av muskelmasse og benmasse. Dette gjør kvinner mer utsatt for osteoporose og skader. Endringene påvirker også stoffskiftet og øker risikoen for livsstilssykdommer som hjerte- og karsykdommer.
Styrketrening er helt avgjørende for å motvirke muskeltap og bevare benhelsen. Studier viser at kvinner som trener styrke 2–3 ganger per uke gjennom overgangsalderen beholder eller øker muskelmasse, reduserer magefett, forbedrer insulinfølsomheten, øker beintettheten eller bremser tapet betydelig, og reduserer risiko for fall.
Kondisjonstrening er også viktig for kardiovaskulær helse og stoffskifte.
Tap av muskelmasse starter allerede i 30-årene og akselererer i perimenopausen. Ved å starte styrketrening tidlig, bygger man opp viktige reserver av muskel- og benmasse. Dette gir et bedre utgangspunkt for å redusere fremtidige symptomer og føle seg sterkere både fysisk og mentalt gjennom hele overgangen
Det frarådes å praktisere intermittent fasting (periodisk faste) i denne livsfasen, da dette kan være direkte skadelig. Dette skyldes at kroppen allerede har høyere kortisol (stresshormon) i overgangsalderen, og trening uten mat kan gi enda høyere kortisolnivåer. Det understrekes derfor at et sunt og regelmessig kosthold er viktig for å støtte kroppen gjennom hormonelle endringer.
Rundt trening: Før trening (30–60 minutter før) anbefales det å spise lett fordøyelig karbohydrat pluss litt protein, for eksempel banan med mandelsmør eller havregrøt med bær. Man bør unngå store, fete måltider. Etter trening (innen 30 minutter) er det viktig med protein og karbohydrater for optimal restitusjon, for eksempel proteinshake med banan, gresk yoghurt med granola eller en kylling-sandwich.
Gjennom dagen: Sørg for jevn fordeling av protein (ikke alt i ett måltid) og spis hver 3–4 time for stabil blodsukkerkontroll. Ikke hopp over måltider.
De tre umiddelbare, praktiske trinnene for å håndtere søtsug er: For det første, drikk et stort glass vann og vent i 10 minutter, da tørste kan mistolkes som sult. For det andre, hvis du fortsatt er sulten, velg en proteinrik snack. For det tredje, velg matvarer med fiber for lengre metthet.
Som smarte bytter foreslås det å velge mørk sjokolade (70%+) i stedet for melkesjokolade, dadler med mandelsmør i stedet for godteri, og frosne druer i stedet for iskrem, proteinpudding i stedet for vanlig dessert.
